Utah's very own Dustbowl
Pat Hearty
Pat recounts the story of the Dust Bowl era as it unfolded in the Grantsville area, highlighting the pivotal role played by the local conservation district in restoring the land. While the Dust Bowl is often associated with the Midwest, its impacts reached much farther—including Utah. The state experienced its own version of the Dust Bowl, with particularly severe consequences in the Stansbury Mountains, where overgrazing led to widespread soil degradation.
