No-Till Drills: The District also provides agricultural equipment rental services, offering two No-Till drills in 7-foot and 12-foot widths. Rental rates are available upon inquiry. RENT A NO-TILL DRILL HERE Invasive Species Program: The Weber Conservation District manages invasive species like Yellowstar Thistle, Rush Skeletonweed, and Phragmites. Yellowstar Thistle is controlled with herbicides, manual removal, and biological control research. Rush Skeletonweed is managed with selective herbicides, grazing, and competitive vegetation. Phragmites is controlled using aquatic-approved herbicides, mechanical cutting, and controlled burns. Addressing Grasshopper Challenges: This year the Conservation District has purchased a pallet of grasshopper bait to support local producers facing pest issues. 50 lb bags are available for those within the district boundaries. Irrigation Canal Conversion Underway: The Conservation District assisted a local irrigation company in securing an Agricultural Water Optimization grant. The project will pipe 3 miles of open ditch, improving water efficiency and delivery for area producers.
