Serviceberry
(Amelanchier alnifolia)

Serviceberry is a hardy native shrub with attractive white blossoms in spring that give way to purple berries that are excellent wildlife food. Leaves are red to orange in fall. Sweating recommended.

Growth rate: moderate
Average height: 6-10 feet

Hardiness: Zone 3

Site requirements: Tolerant of many soil types and withstands drought and heat well. Does not perform well on alkaline sites. Best in full sun, but has moderate shade tolerance.
