Golden Currant
(Ribes aureum)

A native shrub with 2" clusters of bright, fragrant yellow flowers and colorful fruit that is popular for making jams, and excellent for wildlife. Flowers in early spring. Leaves are light green and glossy that turn red in the fall.

Growth rate: fast
Average height: 3-6 feet

Hardiness: Zone 2

Site requirements: Grows well in a variety of types of soils. They do better in more moist areas. Somewhat shade tolerant.
