(Abies concolor)

Excellent ornametnal and Christmas tree. Silvery needles look similar to blue spruce, but are soft to the touch. Trees have a leightful aroma and make good winter roosts for grouse. Needles are 2-3" long and cones are 2-5" long.

Site Requirements: Best in course to medium soil, but alkaline intolerant. Drought tolerant and can do well in shade. They withstand heat and drought better than other firs.
