London Planetree
(Platanus hybrida)

A hybrid between American Sycamore (P. occidentalis) and Oriental Planetree (P. oreientalis). Exfoliating bark, olive green to creamy white. Large speading crown. Very adaptable to urban conditions. Glossy green leaves will turn yellow in fall. This tree does best in warm summer locations. These trees line Brigham City's main street. Unlike the spiked seedpods of horse chestnut, the "ball" of seeds seen in the London planetree pictures is soft and quite ornamental.

Purchase Size: 12-18"
Price per 5 trees: $13.00
Price per 10 trees: $21.00
Growth Rate: rapid
Average Height: 65-100 feet

Hardiness: Zone 4
Site Requirements: Best in full sun. Tolerates most soils, but has low salt and flood tolerance.
