The Blacksmith Fork Conservation District was formed on April 13, 1950, and has been serving landowners in southern Cache County, Utah, since that time.

The district has been actively involved in the Little Bear River Watershed Improvement Project since its inception in 1990.

Work has also recently been completed on an inventory of all animal feeding operations in the area. District officials are working with landowners to provide cost-share funds for potential CAFOs (Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations). See our Programs page for more information on funding opportunities.

Other activities the Blacksmith Fork Soil Conservation District is involved in includes working with local landowners on range and irrigation improvement projects; on noxious weed control particularly Medusahead rye; with local communities and irrigation companies on stormwater runoff issues; and with city and county officials on agricultural preservation issues.
